Watis was the sister of Epicurus (the philosopher of well-being) and wife of Idomeneus - king of Crete and grandson of Minos, the mythical king of Crete.

Grape Variety: Agiorgitiko 100%     

Vineyards: P.D.O. Nemea Zone

Harvesting: Hand-picked in mid to late September

Vinification / Maturation: Classical red wine vinification; under the Commission regulation (EC) No 606/2009. Seven day maceration with alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats under controlled temperature that is not exceeding 30° C. Ageing takes place in oak barrels for six months.

Organoleptic Characteristics:

Eyes: Ruby red with purple hues.

Nose: Ripe cherry, plum, sour cherry, blackberry jam aromas. As a result of ageing a rich bouquet of balsamic and spice aromas such as clove, rosemary and eucalyptus prevails.

Palate: Elegant tannins and an intense crisp taste of forest fruits, milk chocolate and sweet spices are found. Full bodied wine that leaves a spicy and almost bitter aftertaste.

Food Pairing: Enjoy this wine with a rich cuisine based on red meat and spicy dishes, also with a cheese or cold meat platter, poultry, roast pork, steak and dishes that have heavy sauces. Best served at 16-18° C.
